High-density lipoprotein phospholipid content and apolipoprotein A-I level are determinants of cholesterol efflux capacity in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia

      Objectives: We previously reported that cholesterol efflux capacity was independently and inversely associated with the presence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). In the present study, our aim was to determine which lipid or apolipoprotein in high- density lipoprotein (HDL) particle was associated with cholesterol efflux capacity in these patients.
