Effect of 14 days of experimental horizontal bed rest on circulating levels of irisin

      Aim: Irisin, a newly-discovered exercise-induced adipo-myokine, is supposed to play a role in “browning” of WAT leading to energy expenditure and metabolic improvement. Acute inactivity perturbs muscle function and is linked to many negative outcomes. To date many research investigated role of exercise on serum irisin levels, but no data exist concerning acute immobilization
